Delib is pleased to announce that exporting response data from Citizen Space Geospatial is now a whole lot simpler.

Citizen Space v.7.9 (internally referred to as ‘Tobler’, after this mapping projection), enables Geospatial customers to export all geospatial response data with a single click. The export groups all the data in one shapefile, rather than individual files for each geospatial question.

Once exported, responses for each question are displayed in a separate layer. Each data point (that is, each geospatial response) also now includes its associated reporting field heading as an attribute.  This makes it easier to link data exported from Citizen Space with other datasets and to identify the question being answered, saving on analysis time. Stick the kettle on.

To summarise, this update makes it much simpler and faster for admins and analysts to view, categorise and analyse the different sets of response data in a GIS.

Visual improvements

This release includes some other smaller improvements, such as moving the ‘valid area’ underneath the other map layers. (Valid area = the area on a Citizen Space Geospatial map into which responses are limited – for example, the valid area could be a ward boundary, and the activity will only accept geospatial responses placed or drawn within said ward boundary.)

This means that the semi-transparent layer that indicates the boundary of the valid area will now show underneath other layers, not over the top of them. It essentially makes maps showing a valid area and other layers of information a bit easier to look at.

Other tweaks

Also included in this release is further support for Geospatial customers in the Republic of Ireland, as well as a couple of bug fixes.

Citizen Space v.7.9 will roll out to customer sites in the week commencing 23 May.
